However, theses and studies featuring BL texts or readers are still in a small number. It definitely deserves more academic attention. Besides, girls in senior high school are in a very important period of molding and developing their sex role attitudes. How they look at and value the various sex roles presented in BL comics and novels as well as their sex role attitudes thus make significant importance. Therefore, this thesis intends to unveil BL, which is still unknown or misunderstood by many people in Taiwan, and more or less contribute to the spread of gender equality awareness. Hence, this thesis targets the senior high school girls with great enthusiasm for BL comics and novels. Through in-depth interviews to collect data, their points of view toward BL and their sex role attitudes are expected to be presented. The results of this thesis are as below: 1. The informants of study agree that BL is of positive significance toward them and believe it brings them happiness and inner growth. 2. The informants of study can judge BL critically and tell right from wrong while reading it. 3. The informants of study don’t identify homosexuality with BL but consider it as romantically imaginative and unrealistic. 4. The informants of study tend to aware of gender issues and have opinions of their own towards gender issues. 5. The informants of study possess sex stereotypes and are deeply influenced by gender dichotomy. 6. The informants of study have sex role attitudes both traditional and modern. In the end, this thesis offers some suggestions for teenage BL fan girls, middle school teachers, education authorities, publishers, and also for further research.
