Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 語文教育學系碩博士班 === 99 === This study analyzes the multicultural education contents in the Nan I version, Kang Hsuan version and Hanlin version Mandarin textbook of the elementary school by content analysis method. The lessons are categorized based on ethnic culture, civic literacy and special feature, and then are compared between different versions. After that, the interview method is adopted to understand the opinions of the teachers on site. Finally, the conclusions are summarized. The results are as follows: Ⅰ.Results of analyzing textbooks 1.The multicultural education contents in the textbooks are mostly natural environment-based. 2.The themes of the multicultural education contents show slight difference among the textbooks of different versions. (1)In terms of the total number, Hanlin version takes the first place. (2)In terms of the primary catalogue, civic literacy takes the major part. (3)In terms of the secondary catalogue, “respect and care environment” takes the highest proportion. 3.The distribution situations of the themes of multicultural education contents in each grade show slight difference among the textbooks of different versions. Ⅱ. Results of interviewing teachers 1.The teachers agree on the connotation of adding multicultural education into the Mandarin textbooks. 2.The teachers suggest the multicultural education in the textbooks should be much closer to the practical society. 3.There is a significant difference on the texts impressing the teachers most. 4.The teachers will emphasize on the connotation of multicultural education contained in the texts during their classes. 5.The teachers believe the connotation of multicultural education contained in the textbooks can enhance the multicultural abilities of the students.
