Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 諮商與應用心理學系碩士班 === 99 === This study is to understand counselors' intervention strategies, belief, and reflections while working with depressed adolescents and their important others in the context of junior high schools by exploring the experience of three counselors. Qualitative approach is adopted in this study through the use of semi-strutured interviews and content analysis. The results of this study are: 1. Counselors' experiences of counseling with depressed adolescents individulally can be categorized as counseling interventions, belief, and reflections. Intervention strategies include building rapport, facilitating insights, behavior modification, and crisis intervention. Belief includes proactive intervention, flexibility, and attitude of acceptance. Reflections include adjustment of attitude and discoveries in successful treatment experience. 2. Counselors' experiences of working with adolescents' important others can also be categorized as counseling interventions, belief, and reflections. Intervention strategies include improving understanding of these persons toward the adolescent client, collecting information actively, reducing pressures of the client, and establishing effective support system. Belief includes emphazing systemic perspective and team working. The reflection indicate that case study is the most important transition of working mode. This study also proposes some suggestions for practicing counselors on how to work with depressed adolescents.
