Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北商業技術學院 === 國際商務系碩士班 === 99 === Based on Sen’s capability approach, we attempt to examine the influence of nation competitiveness on standard of living (SL) and quality of life(QL) between developed and developing countries. Our panel data set of 50 countries from 2005 to 2008 . The empirical results are estimated with OLS, fixed effect and random effect model. We find that macroeconomic instability and household consumption expenditure have significant effect on SL for developed country, In addition, for developing country that the values of GDP per capita effect of SL. With respect of QL, efficiency enhancer and infrastructure have positive influences on QL, but innovation brings a negative impact on QL of developed country. Finally, It shows macroeconomic instability and crime have negative impacts on QL of developing country. Therefore, the government plays an important role in enhancing a country’s SL and QL. If government to pay more attention to people life circumstances, high levels of SL and QL can be achieved.
