The research instrument used in this study was a questionnaire, and the respondents were the foreigners in Taiwan who attended classes in Chinese language centers of universities. The statistical measures of the data gathered from the questionnaire included the mean, standard deviation, t-test, and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. The level of motivation of the foreign Chinese language learners in Taiwan is high, particularly concerning the desire for learning. 2. The situation of adjustment of the foreign Chinese language learners in Taiwan is good, particularly concerning habits of learning. 3. The level of satisfaction of the foreign Chinese language learners in Taiwan is high, particularly concerning teachers. 4. There are noticeable gender differences in learning motivation and learning adjustment, while there is a subtle difference in learning satisfaction. 5. There are big age differences in learning motivation, learning adjustment, and learning satisfaction. 6. Educational background had an obvious influence on learning motivation and satisfaction instead of learning adjustment. 7. The purpose of visiting Taiwan partly affected language learners’ motivation, adjustment, and satisfaction. 8. Class hours partly influenced language learners’ motivation and adjustment. 9. The foreign learners’ satisfaction is predictable from their perception of learning motivation and adjustment. Based on the findings of this study, several viewpoints were proposed to Chinese language sections, teachers and researchers for future reference. Yong Chen 陳庸 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 167 zh-TW
