Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 中國語文學系 === 99 === The development of Taiwanese popular songs in Taiwan can trace to the end of Japanese Rule period. Then the World war Ⅱ made the record industry that was prosperous gradully became stagnat. After Taiwan Restoration , Kuomintang Government ruled Taiwan and popularized Pekingese positively to avoid the trouble of communication among those people that were from all provinces in China. But Pekingese influenced the development of Taiwanese popular songs and indirectly resulted in Taiwanese record industry decadence. Fortunately, Taiwanese record industry developed once again with those films imported continually from Japan to Taiwan. But at this moment, most writers wrote words for Taiwanese songs with Japanese tune as far as possible to avoid getting into trouble and created the unprecedented “mixed folksongs”.
At that period time of Taiwanese language decadence, Junlin Ye still devoted himself to writting words forTaiwanese popular songs. Although his creations were criticized to be the nondescript “mixed folksongs”and do much damage to Taiwanese culture , these objections were just from somebodys who took no account of the social environment completely. In fact, his songs have something to do with Taiwan, for example, reflecting the situation of Taiwan society, appeasing peoples unsuccessful life, inheritancing Taiwanese language, introducing the natural conditions and the social customs in Taiwan, and confirming the local culture in Taiwan. The most special of all was that he created thirty-six songs describing the natural conditions and social customs in Taiwan. Because the contents of the songs are very extensive , and including the special scenes and localism all over Taiwan, it may regard as unprecedented creations among the writers of Taiwanese popular songs.
Basically, Junlin Ye contributed very much for Taiwanese popular songs. Although he has been dead for years, there are still many singers singing his songs repeatedly today. That proves that his songs are still popular now. In other words, his contribution of inheriting Taiwanese language still keeps continual. Even if the contribution is difficult to prove by statistics , it can not be eliminated arbitrarily.
