In Taiwan, there is no exception to such circumstances, however, raising legal retirement age is also bringing on a new impact, and such impact could make aging of employees worse which is existing in state-owned industries. For this reason, this study takes example by Taiwan Power Company to explore its senior-aged employees’ viewpoints and reaction to raising legal retirement age, and its influence on their working volition. Do hope that it could be through this study to find out the factors and types of impact the senior-aged employees on their working volition after the system of raising legal retirement is giving effect to, meanwhile it investigates the differences between the types for the related authorities’ reference. Both documental analysis and in-depth interview were conducted on 10 senior-aged employees of Penghu District Office of Taiwan Power Company, among them, 7 workers and 3 clerks. The result of study shows that the impact of external factors on raising legal retirement age are: 1. policy element: improving governmental financial matters and the accomplishment of candidate’s political views; 2. Social element: extension of lifespan, physical health, solving the issue of labor shortage, bad labor environment, and having no alternative in the system; 3. Economic element: the aged care and economic support for children. The employees who are in favor of the said extension think that raising retirement age will not influence on their work because of advancement of society and technology, lifespan, and physical health. On the other hand, raising retirement age exists in economic interest, it means that the income of continuous work may make up for insufficiency of the income after one’s retirement and become economic support for children. The individual elements that affect one’s working volition are mainly: 1. The more one is young, the more he/she enjoys leisure; the more aged he/she becomes, the more he/she thinks over whether his/her physical condition is good enough to work or not. 2. All the male and female interviewees dislike to be constrained by work, the male approvers hope for more extension. 3. The approvers with low educational background agree to the extension, and the high educational background approvers aren’t in favor of it. 4. The healthy condition is the principal factor, the interviewees consider that they will continue to work till their retirement age if their healthy condition is good enough. 5. Continuous work may offset the insufficiency of income after their retirement. 6. It should have a different retirement standard depending on distinct work nature. In addition, it shows that: 1. bad labor environment is the reason of low child-bearing; 2. the physical labors support the extension of retirement age; 3. conversion of economic supply between generations; 4. working volition of senior-aged employees include: (1). Traditional thought type (2) economic leading type (3) realistic compromise type (4) the type of taking the world as it is. Wang, Ming-Huei 王明輝 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 86 zh-TW |
