Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東商業技術學院 === 休閒遊憩與創意產業管理研究所 === 99 === Abstract With the continued enhancement of socioeconomic standards in Taiwan and the increase in the incomes of Taiwanese nationals, the trend of travel has become more prevalent, and the tourism industry has gradually become a strategic path for the government to increase employment opportunities for its people and to earn foreign reserves from tourism. In recent years, the government has promoted major tourism policies such as: “Challenge 2008: National Development Plan, Doubling Tourist Arrivals Plan,” “2008-2009 Travel in Taiwan Annual Plan,” “2009-2012 Project Vanguard for Excellence in Tourism,” “2010-2011 Travel in Taiwan / Moved 100” . After implementing these policies, the number of tourists has increased several times, and hotel operators have also used the opportunity to expand operating locations at many places. None of the previous study has used Leontief’s input-output model to explore the interdependence between hotel industry and other industries. This study used input-output model to explore: (1) the linkage effect between the hotel industry and other departments (including output effect, income effect, and employment effect); (2) the contribution made by the hotel industry to the macro-economy. The results indicated that hotel industry is located in the fourth quadrant, which means that it can motivate other industrial development, and does not tend to be influenced by the development of other industries. The empirical results reveal that the advertising industry influences output effects mostly, and the amount of the value is 542,775,183 million NT dollars. Information and communication, arts, entertainment and recreation industries influence income effects the most, and the amount of the value is 161,620,514 million NT dollars. The employment effects are the 157,701employers are increased in the hospitality industry. In total, the output effects of the tourism industry is 934,343,309 million NT dollars, the income effects are 3,535,257 million NT dollars, and the employment effects are -569,652 jobs performance is not obvious.Finally, results of this study can be used to as a reference to allow the government to determine which industries will lead domestic development an investment.
