Description
Summary:碩士 === 南開科技大學 === 福祉科技與服務管理所 === 99 === This study aimed to analyze the content and trend of past research related to depression issues from 90 journals derived through the PerioPath Index to Taiwan Periodical Literature System during the period of 1994-2010, especially for older adults. The content analysis method was applied to examine research trends in depression in the past two decades, with a particular emphasis on the last decade. This article also focused on depression toward a wide range of mental health issues. A total of 90 research papers were analyzed from the aspects in terms of research types, topics, variables, and scales. It was found that researchers’ backgrounds can be categorized into four main realms, including the medical care & health promotion, education, society & psychology, and others. However, the researchers’ backgrounds from other groups might have, to a certain extent, gradually played a valuable role on the published work. This situation could be inferred that depression research has gradually become one of the important academic fields in Taiwan, especially in the field of the elderly society. Depression inventories for detecting clinical depression among different groups in Taiwan have not been standardized yet. However, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), and Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) were very popular currently. For further researches, it is suggested that researchers should recruit articles of international famous journal to extend the diverse issues related to depression.
