Summary: | 碩士 === 南開科技大學 === 福祉科技與服務管理所 === 99 === Thanks to the improvement of living and medical standards, the population structure in Taiwan has changed significantly. The proportion of the elder population aged over 65 is continuously increasing. Taiwan officially stepped into an aging society in September, 1993. The increasing aging population has promoted new consumer behaviors as well as the development of a new welfare industry. What needs to be highlighted is that the types of disease among the elders in Taiwan have turned from “acute” to “chronic,” making it difficult to predict when they would strike. In turn, the behavioral intentions of leisure travel could be hindered. Accordingly, this study aimed to explore the feasibility of innovative leisure travel management for the elders with telecare, and hopefully, to bring forth a new model for the leisure travel industry.
Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, the study discussed the behavioral intentions, including attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control, of the elders on leisure travel accompanied by telecare. A questionnaire survey was conducted on the baby boomers born between 1945 to 1964. 250 questionnaires were given out while 230 were retrieved with return ratio 92%. After removing 30 invalid ones, 200 effective questionnaires were collected. The research variables were divided into basic analysis and overall model analysis. The software SPSS12.0 was used to statistically analyze and document the data gathered.
It was found that the three dimensions, “attitude,” “subjective norm,” and “perceived behavioral control” had significant positive influence on the behavior intentions of leisure travel accompanied by telecare. Among them, “perceived behavioral control” was the most influential on the behavior intentions. The study results hope to serve as a reference for further studies and for leisure travel industry.
