Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 客家文化研究所 === 99 === With a revival of Hakka studies over the past decade, which has spawned regional Hakka study in many regions, yet noticeably absence from the puzzle seems to be the eastern region, particularly so in eastern Taiwan. This has prompted the author to puzzle out a map through the study on the Hakka distribution in Taitung County, and also to discern where the primary Hakka dwellings lie in the Taitung area, and where they come from, as well as to to decipher what the correlations are on the makeup of regional residents and Hakka migrants.
With that said, the discussion focuses on four regions of Taitung County, upon deducting the aboriginal villages and offshore areas, which are the Luye Township, Guanshan Township and Chihshang Township along the mountainous line; and Donghe Township, Chenggong Township, and Changbin Township along the coastal line; Taimali and Dawu Township along the southern cross-island line; and downtown Taitung City and Beinan Township, totaling 10 towns and cities, where the villages and boroughs in each township are put through detailed makeup analysis, and the Hakka dwellings are then discussed independently. Lastly, using the village and borough as the unit, a Hakka distribution diagram in Taitung is sketched as a conclusion.
