碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 音樂學系 === 99 === The period of Ludwig van Beethoven（1770~1827）, from the end of 18th century to the early 19th century, was a turbulent era. During this period of time, there was the political and social unrest—the outbreak of French Revolution—that influenced the musical culture and environment. This article examines the violin sonata No. 7, Op. 30/2, which is one of those ten violin sonatas composed by Beethoven. As the work came to a near completion, Beethoven was plagued by a severe deafness, which he mentioned in his famous“Heiligenstadt Testament” written in 1802. Express his indignation for the fate and performance in music. Four aspects will be investigated in this paper: Chapter One explains the aims of this research, as well as the research scope and references of the thesis. Chapter Two explores the musical history of the classical and early romantic period and discusses Beethoven’s life and musical style. Chapter Three focuses on the analytical discussion and performance interpretation, which are divided into the form, harmony, phrasing structure and so on in all four movements. Chapter Four is the conclusion.
