Based on the evaluation of the results, methods of teaching human resource fundamental abilities were developed for technological college teachers in integrating knowledge management platform into teaching human resource management. The objectives of the study were: (1) to discuss the essence of human resource fundamental abilities; (2) to investigate the effects on the development of students’ human resource fundamental abilities by applying a KM platform in teaching; (3) to investigate the effects on student’s learning attitude when a KM platform was integrated into the course; and (4) to examine the results of learning achievements between the experimental group and the control group. A quasi-experimental design method was adopted. A sample of 74 sophomore students from two departments at a technological college in Pingtung was included in the study and divided into control and experimental groups. To collect data for analysis, KM platform was first introduced in the class.Then, four related instruments were administered to the students, they were Human Resource Fundamental Abilities Scale, Human Resource Management Learning Attitude Scale, The Scale of Learning Attitude toward Using Teaching Platform, and The Learning Effects of Human Resource Management. Descriptive statistics, including t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Analysis of Covariance, correlation analysis and path analysis were applied with SPSS software. The study also applied “Human Resource Fundamental Abilities Interview Guideline” to conduct an in-depth interview with both groups for evaluating students’ understanding in human resource fundamental abilities, their learning of and attitude toward using KM platform. The study concluded: (1) Students had to possess the essence of human resource fundamental abilities; (2) Students of different departments showed significant differences in the performance of human resource fundamental abilities, and the attitude toward learning human resource management ability and using KM platform; (3) The results indicated partially significant difference between the experimental group and the control group on learning achievement in human resource fundamental abilities; (4) Academic performance of students supplemented with the KM platform was better than that of those who taught in traditional teaching methods; (5) There was correlation between essences of human resource fundamental abilities and the attitude toward using the KM platform; and (6) There was significant correlation between student’s computer knowledge and learning achievement in human resource fundamental abilities.
