While establishing satellite ground stations is the pre-work for satellite base stations, the staff’s unfamiliarity or lack of Standard Operating Procedure usually fail themselves to complete these works in time. As a result we investigate how to develop an algorithm to adjust efficiently and systematically the grounding station antenna, and to aim at the communications satellite correctly. The data base of this thesis is created from the downlink signal of 8A swith from the satellite Chung-Hsin No.1. We organize a satellite ground station, adjust the azimuth and elevation of the 1.5M antenna to obtain and record power values of different positions for references of the database. Hereafter we come up with certain search methods and related algorithms, analyze them with computer simulation to find the optimal value, and decide which one is the most effective way for the satellite ground stations to capture signals.
