I compiled the function of the speech level shift that became clear in a precedent study. The method of the consideration whether there was a function except it more. In addition, I considered what kind of meaning there was when plural functions were used. As a result, I comfirmed the function of speech level shift in Japanese conversation. “joke” “not invade in other peoples private territory” “tolk and topic about the third person” “echo of the joke” and “when start/finish the utterance. And chang the topic”. Resul of the convesatione of Japanese and Taiwanese is as follows. “ formal feeling” “when start/finish the utterance. And chang the topic” “tolk and topic about the third person” .In addition I found new function that emphasized own opnion. When a speech level shift happened in the case of "a foemal feeling" in the precedent study, it was spoken, but I considered the scene which was concrete by this report and confirmed that there was "a formal feeling" for the investigation such as the scenes such as the tea ceremony, a thing about studies, about the corpus of conversation. In addition, I collected conversation data for a Japanese learner of National Kaohsiug First University of Science and Technology. I could put whether, in addition, a speech level shift was taking place together and considered whether there was the expression of what kind of invitation based on the data. In this dates, polite form was spoken mainly in their Japanese convasatione. Because learner who study Japanese language start to study polite form. it with a polite form for the factor that a speech level shift happens and fit a polite form, it is thought that there is it for not being conscious of end of a sentence because, in addition, I change end of a sentence into Chinese and Taiwanese to be Japanese and do not express courteousness. By the conversation between Taiwanese learners, I was able to watch a speech level shift by "task to the partner" "a situation and the presentation of the opinion to be opposed" "a feeling not to invade the private domain" and f "a story / the topic about the third person".
