Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄海洋科技大學 === 海事資訊科技研究所 === 99 === In this study, FLOW-3D package simulation of dam break waves will be focused on the interaction of waves and structures when the dam break waves over the structures. Numerical modeling is based on the finite difference method for solving Navier-Stokes equations including the free surface effect. Numerical results were demonstrated by the experimental data, the results show good agreement with the experimental values in the literature. This study follows the experimental framework to simulate the interaction of waves and structures for various parameters of structures and various water elevations of the dam break problems. We computed the acting force of structure due to the water impacting on the structure, velocity distribution, and elevation of free surface, as well as the changes of Froude number vs. time-based variation in the computational domain.
