It is now the town with the biggest population in Chai-yi County. Ming-hsiung has the name of “Country of the University.” Its people are known for their kindness, unsophisticated and humanities; besides, its humanity property is fruitful. From the Ming-cheng period, the Ching Dynasty, Japanese Period to the Republic of China, Taiwan had gone through many political power shifts. Its winding history progress limited people’s thoughts and freedom of speech. It is until today that Taiwanese people have freedom and rights to express their true feelings openly. However, many poets had illustrated their love to the people, the land and the issues through their literature works from long ago. The researcher followed the path of history and the culture features so as to get a clear picture of Ming-hsiung literature development, and to present the structure of Ming-hsiung literature, especially its elegant side. It is hoped that Taiwanese literature could be explored and understood at the same time, too. With limited researches, the researcher consulted the historical data and chronicles of Ming-hsiung, Chi-yi and Taiwan so as to explore the geographical environment of Ming-hsiung, the history development and the general condition of education and culture, and to draw the outline of Ling-hsiung literature development background. Ming-hsiung literature can be classified into two folds: traditional literature and new literature. The developing backgrounds of traditional literature and new literature before and after World War II and their representative writers’ works were discussed in this study, followed by the combination of Ming-hsuing writers’ features so as to triangulate the relationships among Ming-shiung literature, Chi–yi literature and Taiwan literature. After Taiwan restoration, Taiwan had put lots of efforts into economy and politics growth. However, the speedy growth of economy declines the foundation of culture. Luckily, starting from the year 2000, under the promotion of sagacious people, culture recovery activities were developed by means of writing local features. The researcher tried to continue the culture recovery activities by completing this essay. It is hoped that this study can organize the literature works of Ming-hsiung writers (both classical and modern), construct the outlook of Ming-shiung literature and inject new life into Chai-yi County literature Ting-guo Cheng 鄭定國 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 303 zh-TW |
