The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among the attitude towards forgiveness, social interest and job satisfaction of elementary school teachers. A total of 531 teachers were recruited from every elementary school in Taipei area through stratified sampling and cluster sampling. The collected data were analyzed by MANOVA, canonical correlation and multiple stepwise regression analysis. The result of the investigation revealed the following findings:
一、The average of cognitive forgiveness is the best in attitude towards forgiveness. The average
of friendship factor is the best in social interest. The average of work itself is the best in Job
Satisfaction .
二、The attitude towards forgiveness of female teachers were better than male teachers and there was a significant difference in cognitive forgiveness.
三、As regarding the background variables, no significant difference was found in attitude towards forgiveness in terms of religion, years of teaching and marriage experience for elementary school teachers.
四、The social interest of female teachers were better than male teachers and there was a significant difference in friendship factor.
五、As regarding the background variables, no significant difference was found in social interest in terms of religion, years of teaching and marriage experience for elementary school teachers.
六、As regarding the background variables, no significant difference was found in job satisfaction in terms of gender, religion, years of teaching and marriage experience for elementary school teachers.
七、The study revealed that there is a significant positive correlation between attitude towards forgiveness and job satisfaction.
八、The study revealed that there is a significant positive correlation between social interest and job satisfaction
九、The study revealed that there is no significant correlation was found between attitude towards forgiveness and social interest.
十、Both attitude towards forgiveness and social interest do serve as predictor variables for job satisfaction.
Finally, according to the findings above, suggestions are given to elementary school teachers, elementary school, educational administrations and future research.
