It can represent the subject well by only using some strokes. We propose a caricaturization system to transform a face picture to a caricatured output with the caricaturist’s style. The users do not need any skill of drawing comic. This proposed system includes two modules: the caricaturization module and manipulation module. The caricaturization module includes face rendering process and hair rendering process. These rendering processes apply correspondence computation to select the appropriate facial features and hairs from the database, and warp them to fit the input face. The manipulation module includes three processes. The additional portrayal rendering process can add the shadow on the caricatured face and make the caricatured face more realistic. Moreover, the process can feminize the male caricatured face. The face orientation process can change the face orientation according to users’ requirement. The facial expression process can produce different expression for the caricatured face. The thesis has two contributions. One is the proposed system utilizes the example-based method to preserve the styles of caricaturists, so we can generate the caricatured faces with different styles. Due to the warping process, the system can also keep the characteristics of the input face. The other is we can generate more different caricatured faces from a single face picture, which can be applied to the creation of comics.
