Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 課程設計與潛能開發學系 === 99 === This research adopted instructional system design (ISD) model developed by Dick, Carey and Carey to design curriculum phonics in the area of English at the elementary school, and further explored the learning outcomes of students. The research utilized 28 students of the third grade to analyze the pretest and posttest scores. In addition, three groups of students that were the highest, the middle and the lowest scored groups were categorized for cross-over analysis with five tasks of phonics instruction. Other referential means, such as the researcher’s teaching reflective journals, post-teaching feedback from students, semi-opened questionnaires and observational records of the peer teacher as well as the qualitative analyses, were also employed for data analysis. The major findings were described as below: 1. Students’ ability of word recognition could be significantly improved via the courses developed by ISD model. 2. Students’ ability of word spelling could be significantly improved via the courses developed by ISD model. 3. Students’ interests in learning English could be promoted via the courses developed by ISD model. 4. The courses developed by ISD model were applicable in terms of the establishment of explicit teaching goals and the development of effective teaching strategies. 5. The courses developed by ISD model were applicable in terms of the reach of learning goals and the self-confidence.
