So, it’s not easy to survive for Taiwan’s SMES. Although SMES have the mobility and flexibility of organizational, but SMES still have to constantly upgrade their advantage and maintain their market competitive advantage. Therefore, to enhance enterprise competitiveness through the business transformation has become the way to survive and business continuity, and fostering innovation is the key to make the business transformation to success. Innovation and transformation has become the conditions of survival for Taiwan’s SMES in the future. Taiwan’s SMES have to adapt to the changes of environmental and look into the future by business strategy, encouraging learning and fostering innovation. Therefore this study will explore the relationship between strategic types, organizational learning and innovation to help Taiwan’s SEMS implement business transformation. There were 253 effective questionnaires in this research to be collected and analyzed by using structure equation modeling. The results are as follows: (1) The strategic types significantly influenced the organizational learning, but the defender did not significantly influence the organizational learning. (2) The organizational learning significantly influenced the innovation. (3) The organizational learning has significant mediating effects on the relationship between the strategic types and the innovation. In the process of business transformation for Taiwan’s SMES, the business strategy and the organizational learning must be effective co-ordination, and through continuing learning, absorbing and internalizing new knowledge to improve the product innovation, process innovation and market innovation, especially the strategic innovation, and then develop the unique competitive advantage.
