Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 食品科學暨生物藥學研究所 === 99 === Diabetes self-monitoring of blood glucose plays an important role for the management of DM. However, many factors affect patient’s blood glucose levels. In this study, the glucose and insulin levels of poorly controlled participants were moinitored during the hospital stay with a continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS). Besides, dirtary intakes were recored to investigate the effects of dietary type and intake on blood glucose levels. The result showed that only 9 volunteers (9/12 admitted) was monitored with CGMS and finished the dietary record. Their blood sugar levels were significantly improved during hospitial still from 300-697 mg/dl at admission time dropped to 82-299 mg/dl after intensive control. The correlation between the dietary contents, calories intakes and AUG revealed individual variation. The difficulty in estimation of dietary contents due to complex of dietary ingredient and cooking causing the change of ingestion may partially explain the variation. Other factors like- activity, emotion, stress and medications also influenced the variation of sugar level. This is the first research of analyzing about dietary influence over blood sugar levels with CGMS in diabetic patients. The data were restricted and difficult to obtaine. Though the direct correlation between the calories from three major nutrients in the diets and AUG of postprandial blood sugar level was not significant, the importance of postprandial blood sugar level in controlling diabetes is an indisputable fact.
