Self-directed learning as independent variables, work adaptation , career maturity as the intermediary variables, job performance as dependent variables as a framework for this study. Based on empirical research, the study investigated handicapped employees by self- administered questionnaires. We obtained responses from 185 of the 300 handicapped employees, and deleted 12 pieces of useless questionnaires, which represents a 57.6 percent response rate by convenience survey. The responses were handicapped employees of Taiwan. The content of questionnaires contained “personal background questionnaires”, “Self-directed learning questionnaires”, “work adaptation questionnaires”, “career maturity questionnaires” and “Job Performance questionnaires.” We analyzed the collected data by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability, Pearson correlation analysis, regression analysis, and structural equation model and then verify research purpose and hypothesis. Moreover, we can understand how much the variables can be predicted. Based on the result of statistical analysis , we got some conclusions: 1. work adaptation offers a positive relation with Self-directed learning; career maturity offers a positive relation with Self-directed learning; work adaptation offers a positive relation with Job Performance; it also shows that career maturity offers a positive relation with Job Performance. 2. Self-directed learning offers a positive relation with job performance. 3. We can find mediation effects from Self-directed learning on the relationshoips of work adaptation and job performance . 4. We can find mediation effects from Self-directed learning on the relationshoips of career maturity and job performance . Finally, according to the result outcomes, we provide specific suggestions for the handicapped employees in Taiwan, government authorities, business and acadmic community that can help them make policies and offer contributions in this field.
