Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 生物事業管理學系研究所 === 99 === In recent years, illegal logging has caused the serious environmental, social and economic problems. Mostly, the international trade of illegal logging products has indirectly encouraged the action of illegal logging. Taiwan has been suspected as one of the illegal logging sales channels and illegal logging suspicious rate is 45% by NGO’s. This study estimates the amount of illegal logging imports in Taiwan by introducing the FAO classification of harvested wood products (HWP) including “Roundwood”, “Sawnwood”, “Wood-based panels”, “Wood charcoal, wood chips, particles and residues”, “Paper and paperboard”, “Pulp and recovered paper” and the suspicious rate of illegal logging provided by previous literatures from 2005 to 2009. As results, the suspected illegally wood products importing in Taiwan is about 1 million to 1.5 million cubic meter, accounted for 19% to 29% of total imported roundwood, sawnwood, wood-based panels, wood charcoal, wood chips, particles and residues; paper and paperboard, pulp and recovered paper products is about 0.27 million to 0.34 million tons, accounted for 10% to 12% of total imported paper and paperboard, pulp and recovered paper products. The primary suspected illegal logging is wood charcoal, wood chips, particles and residues importing from Asian countries.
