Surface measurements of ten air quality stations of Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration in 1994-2010 are used. Analyzed parameters include annual and seasonal averages of daily mean temperature, daily maximum temperature, daily minimum temperature, and diurnal temperature range. The annual and seasonal averages of daily mean temperature in the horizontal show a downward trend from south to north, due to the effect of latitude. However, the spatial distribution of daily maximum temperature, daily minimum temperature, and diurnal temperature range is affected by the distance to the sea. In addition, annual average of daily mean temperature has a positive trend, which is larger than the increasing trend of the world and Taiwan. This implies the warming from the local effect other than the global warming. In this study, urban heat island intensity is defined as the temperature difference between urban and suburb stations. We find that the Yun-Chia-Nan area has a multi-core mode on urban heat island intensity and stations of Touliu, Putz, Tainan (Lunbei, Xingang, Annan) are the urban (suburb) stations. Yunlin County has the strongest urban heat island intensity in fall and stronger intensity in the day than in the night. The urban heat island intensity of Chiayi County and Tainan City is strongest in winter and stronger in the night than in the day. The seasonal and diurnal inconsistence of maximum urban heat island intensity over the area implies the effect of land-sea breeze. The comparison of urban heat island intensity in the first eight years (1994-2001) and last nine years (2002-2010) indicates that the urban heat island intensity is associated with land use rather than population intensity. Other suburb stations of Taihsi and Shanhua also show an upward trend in temperature, which deserves a further study. 談珮華 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 100 zh-TW |
