Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 歷史學研究所 === 99 === The Yangmei Township is in the south-east of Taoyuan County. In the past, it was a hunting zone for the Pinpu (Plain) tribes. But now it has become a town with most population in Taiwan in 2008. And only 4000 people are needed to be a county-controlled city. Therefore, the development and expansion of the population and the whole town are worthy of noticing. Yangmei Township belongs to Taoyuan Country after the R.O.C government moved from Mainland China to Taiwan. Before 1990s, its population had been the first in Taoyuan County, simply second to Taoyuan city and Jungli City. However, after 1990s, the population in Pingzhen and Bade Township increased sharply and thus both towns upgraded into county-controlled cities. However, the population still grew relatively slow in Yangmei. Therefore, the study aims to find out the relationship between the population migration and settlement development in Yangmei Township through researching the influences of local economic development and transportation distribution. This study focuses on Yangmei Township during the 64 years from 1945 to 2008, discussing the process of population growth and settlement development.
