Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 資訊管理學系所 === 99 === The main purpose of the study is to investigate the influence of personality traits on senior elementary school students’ attitudes toward making internet friends. Subjects of the study were 430 fifth and sixth graders from an elementary school in Taichung city. Questionnaires about Personality Scales and Making Internet Friends Attitude were employed. The 430 questionnaires were analyzed by independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation. According to the results of data analysis, conclusions are as follows. 1. About the attitude towards making internet friends, there was significant difference between different genders of senior elementary school students. Boys placed higher value upon the psychological cognition and emotions. When relating to real actions with internet friends, there was no significant difference between two genders. 2. Regarding the attitude towards making internet friends, there was no significant difference between students from different graders. 3. There was significant difference between different contact frequencies with internet friends regarding the attitude towards making friends with them. 4. There was also significant difference between different lengths of contact time with internet friends and the attitude towards making internet friends. 5. It showed slight positive difference with the influence of the three personalities, friendliness, nervousness, and brightness to the students’ attitude toward making internet friends. To be precise, students with higher friendliness, nervousness and brightness personalities placed slightly higher value on psychological cognition and emotion of internet friends. There was no significant difference between personalities of friendliness, nervousness, brightness, carefulness, extroversion on the students’ tendency to have real action with internet friends 6. The personality traits can be used to predict the attitude toward making internet friends, but the power is not strong.
