It is also a crucial quality indicator of health care service in the health care industry. The purpose of raising patient safety issue is to avoid, prevent, and improve the adverse events and injuries in the process of healthcare. Over the past years, most studies exploring healthcare issues were focusing on medical malpractice, medication errors, adverse events, etc. The perspective view of individual behavior as a variable factor when addressing the Intention of medical personnel to report patient safety events has seldom been analyzed in previous studies. Furthermore, most previous reports do not distinguish between the Intention of reporting self-related events and the Intention of reporting others-related events. Therefore, the aim of this study is to explore the determining factors affecting the Intention of medical personnel to report self-related and others-related patient safety events, and to explain it in terms of the theory of planned behavior.
