This paper investigates the impact of female directors on corporate decision and firm performance by using China corporation data during the period of 2006-2009. The results show that the ratio of female directors has a positive effect on board meeting frequency and R&D expenditure. In addition, we find that the ratio of female directors has a positive effect on firm performance when a firm has higher R&D expenditure.
