The objects of study were two classes of eighth graders, and they were divided into the experimental group ( n=33 ) and the control group ( n=35 ). The research design adopts the nonequivalent pretest-posttest designs of quasi-experimental design. The quantity data were analyzed by using the pretest and posttest questionnaire of optical learning achievement and optical misconception. Then, add semi-structured questionnaire, interviews, classroom videos, teacher logs to be data source of qualitative analysis. The conclusions of the study are:1、the experimental group progresses more than the control group on the optical learning achievement, and reach the level of significance in statistics;And, the high-score group and the middle-score group progress more than the low-score group in the experimental group, and reach the level of significance in statistics. 2、the experimental group progresses more than the control group on the the optical misconception of “light source”,“Light travel in straight line”, “ light refraction ”, “Light and vision”, “ light and color ”;and the experimental group progresses a little more than the control group on the the optical misconception of “Light reflection ”, “Light and shadow ”. In addition, the study also found:1. Most of the students expressed that they liked the teaching strategies. And they expressed that WebQuest model can enhance their interesting in learning and help them to understand the concepts. 2. Most of the students expressed that cooperative learning can help them to learn. 3. Most of the students expressed that they hope re-use WebQuest model to learn in the class in the future, and they willing to explore knowledge on the Internet in their after-school. 4. WebQuest model can help students to develop the ability of inquiry, cooperative learning, expression. 5. A small number of students lack the proper attitude and literacy for using of information technology, and even they maybe have Internet addiction problems. C. C.
