Meanwhile, we explore the presentation and the features of the participants in answering math open-ended problems. And we also analyze the creativity of the participants in solving problems. There were 60 participants appearing to be gifted in both science and math in the sixth grade from five different elementary schools in one of the cities in Middle Taiwan. They also planned to take the “exam for the gifted students in both science and math in the city” when they were in the seventh grade. We analyzed the answers of the test and compared with results of the exam. Furthermore, we got more information by setting up interviews with some participants. The study shows that the participants who were very good in solving basic computing problems appear to be very poor in solving math open-ended problems. It also shows that 80% of participants were unfamiliar with open-ended problems, and seldom doubted the completeness of the description in math problems. Besides, they also had troubles in demonstration of geometric problems. There are 42.1% of better math creative participants passing the big exam.
