Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 政治學研究所 === 99 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the mainland female spouses’ life adjustment in home environment, social network, and marital appraisal. A questionnaire about life adjustment was given to 10 mainland female spouses of Changhua County. The participants’ results from the investigation were using field research and purposive sample. Finally, suggestions and recommendations were made according to the conclusions to provide feasible solutions, which may be reference for the government to improve the mainland female spouses’ policies and provide counseling for the mainland female spouses, and the researchers in the future. The results were as follows: 1. In Taiwan, mainland female spouses’ main marriage pipeline were friends or relatives’ introduction, and broker. To get married, they first consider personality qualities, followed by concept of good marriage, instead of financial factor. 2. According to the results, mainland female spouses swiftly adapt to life in Taiwan. The adaptations were affected by relatively poor family environment, responsibilities of taking care family, and a language expression. 3. Mainland female spouses in Taiwan could not develop their social network through work or learning courses because of insufficient resources and family restriction. 4. In Taiwan, mainland female spouses’ marriage satisfaction depends on whether their Taiwanese spouses express their concern and care. Mainland spouses would not support or encourage their friends and relatives to marry someone in Taiwan. 5. Although the crowded and messy living environment made a bad impression on the mainland female spouses, they love and identify with the democracy and freedom in Taiwan.
