Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士在職專班 === 99 === S corporation is a lead manufacturer of household appliances in Taiwan. In recent years, the household appliance industry has been facing mounting challenges. While the export business was still in its infancy, Taiwan joined the WTO, facing steep competition from Japan and Korea, who divided up the domestic market. As a result, household appliance output has been declining since 2000. Under cost considerations, Taiwan''s appliance makers have migrated their manufacturing bases to China and Vietnam, some imported from OEM factories in China. Meanwhile, for the flat TV market, some high technology manufacturers have relied on their own key components and production capabilities, and entered the already heated battle field. In addition, some well-known appliance brands exited due to financial problems. These phenomena show that Taiwan’s home appliance industry is highly competitive, and has become more and more difficult for existing players.
Based on the current service sector output in GDP, Taiwan has become a service-oriented society. Can the so-called “servicizing” bring in a new source of growth for the appliance manufacturers? "Leasing" can be an important aspect of “servicizing”, but currently only very few companies in Taiwan takes on this concept. In this study, through understanding the problems faced by S corporation and by considering the resources available, leasing as a business alternative for S corporation has been analyzed from various perspectives.
Based on an analysis from legal, technical, market and financial aspects, results show that leasing is indeed a feasible business alternative worth attempting in Taiwan.
