Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 資訊學院碩士在職專班數位圖書資訊組 === 99 === Every city and town in Taiwan has cultural centers or public libraries; according to Year 2009 Statistics on Taiwan Public Libraries, currently Taiwan has 364 public libraries. Among the tasks of public libraries, reading promotion is one core task. In the digital era, the use of Internet service in reading promotion should be paid attention. With the popularity of Internet and Web 2.0, people have been accustomed to online community, through which resources and ideas are shared and exchanged. Furthermore, online reading community should be concerned by librarians. Only a small amount of Taiwan's public libraries have managed online reading communities. Most of them use platforms of blog service providers, such as Yahoo!Kimo Blog, Yam's Blog, Xuite and others. Those platforms have a lot of shortage in managing an online reading community, for example those platforms do not have the bookcase concept or can not track the status of reading. Therefore, this study will focus on the analysis and implementation of an online reading community website for Taiwan's public libraries. This study uses an online questionnaire to survey the use of online reading community websites. The website design concept will base on the survey result and literature review. Then, this study uses an open source content management system (CMS), WordPress, to implement the online reading community website, which is suitable for Taiwan's public libraries on reading promotion. It is expected that this website is beneficial for Taiwan's public libraries to develop their online reading communities and improve the climate of reading.
