Summary: | 碩士 === 國立體育大學 === 運動保健學系碩士班 === 99 === Background: The raising rate of core temperature would be increasing when player exercises under humid condition. It increases the cardiovascular and thermoregulatory stress, affects exercise performance negatively. The exercise performance of athletes in Taiwan may be limited during the summer training due to the subtropical climate. Therefore if we apply appropriate cooling approaches to the athletes in Taiwan, it could provide benefit for performance. Purpose: To exam the effectiveness of improving the badminton exercise duration, decreasing the relative exercise intensity and heating stress if Rapid Temperature Exchange device (RTX) was intervened. Method: Sixteen regularly trained male badminton players ( age: 15.88±3.28 yrs; high: 166.38±10.25cm; weight: 57.19±12.89kg) performed the modified badminton specific capacity of field test for three sets . In counterbalance order, subjects performed the test with hand cooling (HC) by RTX and non-hand cooling (NHC) (passive recovery) condition which were administered for nineteen seconds in recovery period each trail. Exercise duration (ED), heart rate (HR), Borg rate of perceived exertion scale (RPE), sweat rate (SR) and thermal sensation scale (TSS) were recorded continually. Two-way ANOVA (intervention×time) was performed to investigate the difference of ED, HR, RPE and TSS, and pair-T test was used to analyze the difference of SR between the conditions. Result: There were no significant difference in all parameters between HC and NHC(ED: 394.02±146.59 and 418.07±202.83 sec; HR: 125.06±5.13 and 124.88±7.09 , RPE: 12.17±1.06 and 11.93±1.31, SR: 1.46±0.66 and 1.10±0.72 l.h-1 and TSS: 5.56±0.36 and 5.42±0.73 with and without the intervention respectively). In conclusion, RTX applying in short duration was no effective affect in badminton exercise duration.
