Summary: | 碩士 === 國立體育大學 === 運動保健學系碩士班 === 99 === PURPOSE: To examine the relationship between physical activity (PA) and work stress (WS) among high-tech employees. METHODS: Three hundred and seventy-three employees consented and included in the study. Physical activity, as measured by the modified MONICA Optional Study of Physical Activity Questionnaire (modified MOSPA, Taiwan Version) , and WS, as measured by the Occupational Stress Indicator-Ⅱ(OSI-Ⅱ, Taiwan Version) were obtained from the subjects. RESULTS: The PA at work was the highest among all PA categories of PA, while light PA was the highest among all intensities of PA. The high-tech employees participate exercise at leisure time at an average frequency of 0.93 times per week. Woring hours significantly discriminated groups between different PA levels (the highest 27% and lowest 27% of total PA). Work stress was averaged 4.02 indicating mid-to-high level of stress at work for our subjects. Working hours and boby mass index significantly characterized groiups between different work stress levels (the highest 27% and lowest 27% of total WS). There no significant collective correlation between both PA categories and PA intensity levels, and WS subscales. There were significant positive correlations between both working hours and light PA at work, and all subscales of WS. CONCLUSION:Mangement of working hours and improvement of active working environment to reduce sedentary or light PA at work may provide a channel to lessen work stress for employees in the high-tech indus-try.
