To have strategies to deal with the difficult state that the domestic agents are facing. In order to confirm the value position of the agents in the industry and to also control and maintain their role as an intermediary in competitive advantage. These related issues effect the expectation of providing practical development and application for future basis reference of decision-making.
The research object selected was a representative of the Taiwan TFT-LCD industry equipment agents. Using Porter's five forces analysis as the foundation for the theoretical study and collecting open information of case companies based on the Yin, Robert K. (1994) proposed case-study method, which included: having in depth interviews with various department managers and grassroots staff, discussing how this target could be best achieved.
Why base on these parameters? Well, with no obvious control over behavior for this research, but with a need for analysis of the present situation, it is possible through the process of interview and data analysis to gain an understanding of the relationship between operating strategy, performance and the service provision of this industry agent and so explore the key to its success.
Research results show that: TFT-LCD is a highly competitive industry. Leaving industry environments and other external factors aside, we should discuss only the internal variables that are possessed by agents. The only way for agents to maintain their role as an intermediary, is to provide "Excellent after-sales service", creating this「Service of value」can highlight the agents irreplaceable competitive advantages.
