| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 社會政策與社會工作學系 === 99 === This research focuses on exploring the challenges and constraints in Community Work in Taiwan through the action research process in the Wancheng Community located in Puli Township, Natou County. Literature review was done for forming a preliminary understanding in relation to the research question. Patterns of challenges and constraints from the literature review were further examined through data generated in the processes of implementing an elderly hot meal program. In-depth interviews of community leaders and field journals were analyzed using grounded theory data analysis methods. The finding of this study has confirmed patterns identified in many prior research. It has further provided vivid illustrations to the dynamics of issues in relation to community work in the contexts at policy, program and community levels. It is suggested that community work is conceptualized and implemented from an issue-based approach and that community enabling is to serve as main focus. Implications for further research are discussed.
