Chinoiserie derived from European taste represents the turmoil and coalition in the connecting between western and Chinese culture. The referents and agreement in artistic and cultural spirit between western and Chinese culture exemplify the western process of investigating and understanding Chinese culture and signify the strategies in seeing and depicting China. This study is centered on the analysis of Chinoiserie, investigating the cultural and artistic interchange between China and the West and referring to cultural study to explore the inherent notions. When discussing the relationship between the representation of the Vision of Cathay and the construction of western culture, this study investigates the essential concepts underlying the practice of seeing and the meaning generated from it and indicates the representation of Chinese vision seeing from the West is a feminine and natural China.
