Compare with the traditional method by laying physical units, this new method could be called “a method by fluidization”. Just like plants and minerals cannot leave the ground, gravity is an inevitable dimensional restrict to architectural tectonics ever since the human history. Architecture must has a steady foundation, thus shown is only the half part above the ground. However, gravity plays lesser role than buoyancy in the undersea world. The form of creatures are multidimensional, complete and plump because of the pressure all around, but highly varied due to the different growth mechanism of diverse environment. Parameterized and non-parameterized, in these two ways tectonics could be analyzed in principle. Nonparameterized tectonics is a goal-oriented process and technique, gradually generated according to the scheduled plan. This thesis selected and analyzed six floating creature: spiral shell, scallop, fungiidae, treeshaped carol, sea urchin and radiolarian. Parameterized tectonics might be used as a design tool, set parameters up to generate various deformation or hybridize and generate new forms. Vertical cities is a compact and intensive form nowadays, nevertheless all tracks of events go back to ground level and are connected horizontally, cannot lift from the ground yet. An ideal vertical city should take the concept of fluid and floating in water in as floating ferries connecting horizontally between high-rises. The emergence of floating ferry will be a key factor in the evolvement of vertical city, and make multiple uses between high-rises more reasonable. This is a truly sustainable vertical city.
