碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 國際政治研究所 === 99 === There are seventeen members in the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), which is highly valued by international society, and we can believe that the enlargement of the euro area could strengthen EMU. Even if these Central and Eastern Countries (CEECs) successfully pass the economic convergence, we groups still try to focus on the stability and capability of CEECs to take the responsibility of members of EMU in the long run. The enlargement of EMU will reflect the transition of the economics of the whole Europe and the comparative position of euro in the international currency system. Therefore, this article will try to discuss the issues concerning the problems of CEECs in the road toward EMU and the conditions which affect the qualifications of CEECs accessing into EMU. Besides, this article will evaluate the effects of international financial crisis on the enlargement of EMU. Besides, I am going to assess the impact of international financial crisis on countries of non-EMU members, like United Kingdom, and further to explain the policy responses of Europe Union to the international financial crisis.
