This study conducts questionnaire and in-depth interviews to collect data and make further comparison. In the first phase, the subjects of questionnaire survey were the members of Taipei Translators & Interpreters Union. A total of 60 copies of questionnaires were distributed and 51 copies were returned. The returned rate was 85%. Questionnaires were analyzed through Excel and subsumed into results. In second phase, the researcher invited the 4 fiction translators for in-deep interviews. The findings of the research: (1)Rich content and varied styles of fictions activate and intervene information behavior. (2)Fiction translators’ information needs has a specified procedure. (3)The extent of specifying in translators’ information needs has the contrary influence on meaning profundity and complexity. (4)The extent of text profundity, varied translation phases and identify impact fiction translators’ information needs. (5)Browsing and chaining are the main steps in the initial phase of fiction translators’ searching procedure. (6)Fiction translators have diverse information seeking channels are multiple and regard document as the important resource. (7)Fiction translators rely on online resource and consider it as the important resource. (8)The barriers in fiction translators’ information seeking as follows:Shortage of relevant materials for subjects, information overload, inappropriateness of acquired information, cost and language comprehension barriers.
