On the growth and development of children left hand X-rays, analysis of the phalanx portion ROI (Region of Interest) image processing information to estimate skeletal maturity. Phalanx ROI capture using a variety of image processing techniques, with the imaging method of continuous research, the development of image processing methods into a plug-in can be easily added to the system, this study used the NIH (National Institutes of Health) developed the Open Source scientific image processing software: ImageJ, Phalanx image processing system developed as ImageJ plug-ins, and writing macros to automate image processing program. Using ImageJ as a development platform and user interface, the expansion and implementation of image processing functions is more quick and easy. Open Source software as a development platform for application development experience can be an effective way to save time.
