It can mediate mutualism between mites and plant, and mites used them for shelter, ovipositing, developing and molting. Benefits for plants that shelter predaceous mites can crawling over plants and drive phytophagous mites away, reduce vegetative damage, increase plant reproduction and fruits. The fungivorous mites as fungus’s spores and hypha in plants as food, remove harmful pathogen indirectly. According to the recording references we collect 27 families, 49 genera and 60 species of leaf domatia of common angiosperms in the low and median habitats of Taiwan. The leaf domatia surface were examined under scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show there are nine morphological types in the observation of leaf domatia: (1) pit (2) pocket (3) hair tuft (4) revolute leaf margin (5) pit-hair tuft combination (6) pocket-hair tuft combination (7) revolute leaf margin-hair tuft combination (8) pit-pocket combination (9) revolute petiole wing. The plants of Rubiaceae most abundantly occur the leaf domatia relatively, and the other are dispersed to various families. Our studies for leaf domatia can compile to make into basic database, provide the reference in researching leaf domatia resource. Jinn-Lai Tsai 蔡進來 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 136 zh-TW
