The light weight aggregates sintering from silt of Shihmen reservoir were adopted in these light weight paving units. In order to investigate the variation of unit weight, compressive strength and workability under high water cement ratio parameters such as cement amount, pozzolanic materials, superplasticizer and volume ratio of coarse aggregate were considered. And then suitable proportion determined through cost analysis was used in production. Using the proportion design method of ACI and traditional experience , certain small – scaled concrete factory can produce light weight concrete paving units which meets the CNS 14995 compressed concrete paving units requirement. The unit weight of this light weight concrete paving units reduced from 1850 kg/m3 to 1650 kg/m3, the compressive strength is still over 28 MPa. Although the cost is increased about 30% but the weight is decreased about 25% which can help reduce transportation cost, work days and improve working efficiency, which in turn results in management cost and salary cut down. In considering of the economic, workability and strength requirement light weight concrete paving units is highly advantageous than the traditional compressed concrete paving units. 黃玉麟 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 68 zh-TW
