Engineers have to solve the problems by applying new technologies to enhance the efficiency of distribution system. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is one of the most popular technologies in the soft computing area for solving distribution system problems. However, due to the radial structure of power distribution system, traditional GAs may encounter some difficulties when searching for the optimal solution. A method based on the GA and decision making for multi-objective programming problems to study the optimal feeder operation for feeder reconfiguration and restoration service. In this thesis, the always legitimate chromosomes of GA was presented. The radial power distribution system of any random generator chromosomes satisfy the topology constrains condition, so we can avoid the illegal chromosomes and this is different form traditions GA.(must to repair or delete or re-find ) procedure of switches state(binary)or normal open switches position (real) encoder. A 83-bus system is used as test system for showing the applicability of the proposed method.
