Description
Summary:碩士 === 明志科技大學 === 化學工程研究所 === 99 === This study investigates the dispersions of 2 wt. % of C.I. pigment Yellow 139 particles in propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate (PGMEA) using a supercritical fluid-assisted dispersion process (SFAD) with commercial dispersants. The favorable formulation of dispersants is a blend of 40% Hypermer PS3, 5% Zonyl FSO -100, and 50% Water in a PGMEA medium. As evidenced by the experimental results, an appropriate amount of dispersant absorbed on the surface of pigment particles and holding the SFAD processes at a higher temperature and pressure are both good for improving pigment dispersion in PGMEA. The performance of pigment dispersoids evaluated by the UV-vis spectra and color analyses indicated that the smaller mean sizes of pigment dispersoids prepared by the SFAD process improved transmittance, lightness (L*), and chroma (C*). Within 12 h after preparation, the mean size of the dispersed pigment particle can be maintained to be smaller than 200 nm, which is satisfactory for industrial applications.
