Two multivariate statistical approaches, factor analysis and cluster analysis, were applied to explore variation for possibility and severity of perceived risk level and address factors that influence the aviation safety. This investigation could help decision makers in risk management of aviation safety in the future. Analytical results revealed the following: 1. Flight safety, runway security, and human errors (pilots and ATC) are the three dominant factors that influence possibility and severity of perceived risk level for aviation safety to TIA employee. 2. The main factors that influence the severity and possibility of perceived risk level could be runway security and flight safety (except for terrorists). The runway security could be denotes as runway transgression when an airplane is taking off, landing and taxing. 3. In the aspects of flight safety, runway security and human errors (pilots and ATC), the severity and possibility of perceived risk level for airport ground handling services would be higher than other four teams. After analyzing 25 variables, factor analysis demonstrated that the first five and four components accounted for 75% variation of possibility and severity for perceived risk level. Cluster analysis presented that analyzed clusters of possibility and severity are almost consistent with original division of original questionnaire, except for ”fleet age is above 15 years”. The classified results of cluster analysis are accordant with the possibility of original division; factor analysis for severity. 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 風險管理與保險學系碩士在職專班 === 99 === Abstract
Aviation safety is affected by several dominant factors, such as weather conditions, mechanical problems and human errors, etc. This study evaluates the possibility and severity of perceived risk level for aviation safety factors by performing questionnaire about employee of Taoyuan International Airport. Two multivariate statistical approaches, factor analysis and cluster analysis, were applied to explore variation for possibility and severity of perceived risk level and address factors that influence the aviation safety.
This investigation could help decision makers in risk management of aviation safety in the future.
Analytical results revealed the following:
