| Summary: | 碩士 === 康寧大學 === 國際企業管理研究所 === 99 === In the past decades, the bicycle industry in Taiwan has established a complete system and produced an industrial clusters situation. The brand, the quality, the originality, the service and so on are all professional enough to competitive with other countries. Recently, the bicycle industry in Taiwan has confronted to some problems, such as the global competition, the aggravation of industrial environment, the shortened life cycle of the products, and so on.
The most important issue for the companies to figure out is how to show their competitive advantage and overcome the obstacles while facing those problems.
This research report will introduce the progress of the bicycle industry in Taiwan and then analyze how this industry becomes the most competitive bicycle industry in the world by using the tactic of corporation, competition and upgrade.
This research report uses one of the normally competitive tactics of Porter, which classifies the industrial business model into three parts: low prime cost, differentiation and centralization. Furthermore, this report uses the “Diamond theory” of Porter to bring up some questions:
1.What are the effects of the bicycle industry from the ecological environment?
2.How would the industrial clusters effect the business model in the middle area on Taiwan?
3.Nowadays, how could the bicycle industry use the business model to improve the sales?
The study shows that the industrial cluster situation is more obvious in the middle area, especially in Taichung and Changhua. The capacity, communication and creation are all better than the bicycle industry in other area.
So far, the challenges of the bicycle industry in the middle area are the cooperation between schools and companies was not so prominent and the companies could not have enough professional talents.
