Summary: | 碩士 === 龍華科技大學 === 工程技術研究所 === 99 === Extreme climate and environment pollution is causing water deficient around the world. This arouses the whole world to seriously consider water-saving issue. It is a government regulation that no more than 6 liters of water is allowed for one flush of water closets. This research studies the flush performance of a siphon-type water closet under such limitation. Previous study suggests that a well-performed water closet has higher axial water velocity in the water channel. This is used as the standard for performance comparison.
Particle tracing technique with a high speed camera is used to measure the axial-flow velocity of water in the tunnel. However, commercial software for numerical analysis is used for subsequent study. Detail information including axial velocity, swirl velocity of water and the proportion of air residing in the tunnel to block the water flow, can all be more clearly understood by numerical simulation.
Our results show that: (1) the location of water falls into the bowel of water closets affects the evacuation performance. (2) Air resides in the tunnel reduces the flow velocity, in other words, reduces performance. (3) The sooner the swirling velocity of water flow shows up, the higher the evacuation performance.
